Run With Endurance

Run With Endurance

Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us – Hebrews 12:1 ESV.

Until we have reached a state of full maturity as children of God, we fall into a state of complaining and murmuring about the difficultness of Christianity, serving God and having to endure through hardships that Christians face. I, for one, have gone through that state and I remember God continuously telling me that He never meant or purposed for the Christian walk to be difficult or impossible for any of us. See, God has marked out a race distinct for each of us that will take us on different adventures as per our different callings. While the destination is the same for everyone, the journey that gets us there is different for everyone. The most important thing to note however is the fact that God provides the strength, the grace, and gives enablement for each to run their race.

We all have desires that are a driving force behind the journey we decide to take but it’s very important to stop and reflect on whether the race we are running is the one God has marked out for us or not. Your race is that which you are prepared for, because God Himself prepares you for your journey. Even in times of difficulty, you never surrender or back down because God has given you the grace to conquer. You hold on too tightly against all odds, it’s what keeps you going.

If anyone speaks, they should do so as one who speaks the very words of God. If anyone serves, they should do so with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ [1 Peter 4:11]. God does not just call us and send us without giving us the power and grace to do what He has sent us to do. Even in difficulties, He provides the grace for us to pull through and bounce back. We have a race to run, we have a purpose to fulfill and God is not expecting any of us to fail, to back down or to give up.  Let us run the race with endurance for the glory of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

You hold on too tightly against all odds, your purpose is what keeps you going”
