You’re blessed when you’re at the end of your rope. With less of you there is more of God and his rule – Matthew 5:3 MSG.
One of our pastors while leading prayer spoke about how it is the people that realize their need for God that are close to God. This really spoke to me because naturally we want to feel like we have our Christian walk in control, we pray, we read the word, we go to church, we give, we testify and this make us feel like we are close to God and God is close to us.
These things are the correct things to do as a child of God as led by the Spirit of God, but they are not the standard that God measures closeness to Him. God requires us to come to Him in brokenness and at the end of our ropes so that He can take over, God desires to be the driver of our lives. Let Him take the wheel, for it is Him who knows what He created us for and what He wants to take us through for us to get there.
The word of God in Psalms 23 verse 4 says : “Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.” Whatever God takes us through, He is right there beside us. He promised to never leave us nor forsake us, even when it’s dark, He is our light (Psalms 139:12). Let us learn to let go and let God.
