My grace is all you need, for my power is greatest when you are weak – 2 Corinthians 12:9a GNT.
I know a man who desires to leave and to serve his creator. This man loves God and wants to be pleasing and to leave a life that is worthy of the calling he has received (Ephesians 4:1). Every time he dedicates himself to seeking God his weaknesses always hinder his progress.
This man has a thorn that just won’t go away. He has tried everything in his power and it always seems the more he tries, the more the thorn goes deeper. He sometimes even thinks he is not worthy of being a Christian.
God says that when you are at your weakest His power is made manifest. When you are powerless His grace carries and lifts you up. At your weakest the power of God rests on you and you are enabled to overcome. At that exact moment heaven is on standby to deal with your case. Scripture says temptation is common among believers and at its peak God will avail grace to overcome it (1 Corinthians 10:13).
“Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me,” John 15:4. This is where the enemy dribbles most Christians. When the thorn is at its worst you must ALWAYS ABIDE IN THE LORD, ALWAYS BE FOUND IN THE VINE. His aim is to separate you from God, separate you from your support structure .Unless you abide in the vine you can’t produce fruit that will last. Yours is to abide while God deals with the thorn.
I will boast all the more gladly about my infirmities so Christ’s strength may rest on me. I will be found in God even with this thorn in my flesh.
