I want to know Christ and experience the mighty power that raised him from the dead. I want to suffer with him, sharing in his death, Philippians 3:10 NLT.
From the early stages of our Christian walk we know that Jesus died for us and set us free from all sin. As we grow in this walk our eyes are being opened to knowing what it means to know this Jesus. The word says when He died, we died with Him (Romans 6:8). Meaning we went through the sufferings that He went through in order for us to know Him.
In Revelation 3:20 the word says, “Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.” When we open that door which is our heart and accept Jesus to come in we accept to take everything that Jesus went through including the sufferings He endured. What we are passing through currently is a sign of who we are in Christ.
We are partakers of His divine nature (2 Peter 1:4). We would not be partakers if we did not go through what He went through. The trials and the tribulations we go through are for our benefit. We are to know Him and be like Him. This is the basis of our Christianity. It is not about rules and regulations, but about knowing Jesus, who is the centerpiece of everything we believe – Hebrews 3:2 MSG. It is for this very reason that we are at war with the devil. Ours is to stand in our faith in Jesus and we shall remain victorious.
