Do not rejoice over me, my enemy; when I fall, I will arise; when I sit in darkness, the LORD will be a light to me – Micah 7:8.
This Scripture was my bread and butter for a time in my Christian walk when I felt I was so far away from God because I was struggling with things that I thought were put to bed in my life. The more I tried to wrestle with myself was the further I felt like I was drifting from Jesus, and truth be told, that is what was happening because my focus was no longer on Him but on my weaknesses and shortcomings. I came across a clip on YouTube and the speaker said, “When you have a problem with behaviour as a Christian, take a look at the relationship.”
When I opened my Bible I came across this Scripture, “Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly,” Matthew 11:28-30 MSG.
This took me back to where I had missed it, but I am so grateful that He was there to pick me back up and point me back at a relationship with Him and not at my mistakes.
