“…but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead,” – Philippians 3:13.
When you realise that all you have in life is the here and now, it makes it quite pointless to bemoan yesterday. You can however make today a better memory of yesterday, by making the most of here and now. One way to ensure contentment in decisions past is to decide for Christ. Make Christ your highest priority here and now, you will never regret that choice.
Yesterday is gone, forget about it. Serve God with all your might now. You are awake this morning, glory to Jesus, now give it your all. ‘Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might,’ Ecclesiastes 9:10a. ‘And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.’ Colossians 3:17.
I have a firm belief that if you made Jesus your sole focus in life you wouldn’t have missed a beat. Matthew 6:33 ‘But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you’. This passage of scripture has dual roles, yours and God’s. Yours is to seek first the Kingdom, God’s is to add the things. So it seems to me that every waking moment should revolve around seeking Him, period. Everytime you find yourself in ‘now’ make it about God!
