So then faith that doesn’t involve action is phony – James 2:17 TPT.
How lovely it is to have the Spirit of God as your Teacher. Waiting on Him to speak is challenging and oftentimes feels like He’s taking forever but when He actually speaks and says “Go!” it’s a whole different type of ball game. He says go when it doesn’t make sense, how do I go when everything says I shouldn’t?
Jesus was once encountered by 10 lepers who asked that He had mercy on them and when He saw them, He said to them, “Go, show yourselves to the priests.” And so it was that as they went, they were cleansed (Luke 17:14). The lepers went even though they were not yet cleansed, and not only that but they were going to show themselves to the priests. So imagine how foolish they would have looked had they not been cleansed just as Jesus said they would when they got to the priests? They easily could’ve missed out on their miracle had they allowed the thought of looking foolish stop them from doing what Jesus said.
What action has Jesus told you to take but because it looks foolish you have not done it? Faith requires us to do. After waiting on Him, we must be prepared to go at His word. God is faithful; He’s not a man that He should lie, nor the son of man that He should change His mind. We miss out on God’s miracles because when He says “Go” it doesn’t make sense to us, so we don’t take action. Let’s put our faith to work and go at His word.
