It was in the year King Uzziah died that I saw the Lord – Isaiah 6:1a NLT.
In life we have things that are kings in our hearts, or things that have taken God’s place in our hearts, knowingly and unknowingly. For some of us it’s our jobs, others their businesses, or even our spouses. These things were given to us by God to provide different needs for us through them but we somehow managed to allow them to take God’s place.
I believe that there comes a time when God allows us to lose these things in order for us to see Him, we might go through tough times in our businesses, lose a job, go through marital problems, but it’s through this process that we really get to see God. It is through the tough seasons of our lives that we see God’s provision outside of the business and the job; we see God’s restorative power in our relationships and even salvation for our families and spouses.
We see His hand and His goodness in hopeless situations, He works all things together for our good while in the process of taking back His rightful place in our hearts. God doesn’t want us to only hear about Him, but for us to see Him with our very own eyes. “I had only heard about you before, but now I have seen you with my own eyes,” Job 42:5 NLT.
