The Revelation Of Christ

The Revelation Of Christ

“But what about you?” he asked. “Who do you say I am?” Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.” Jesus replied, “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by flesh and blood, but by my Father in heaven. And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it – Matthew 16:15-18.

Just a quick background of this story, so Jesus is having a conversation with His disciples asking them who people say He is. They give Him different answers, saying to Him that people think He is one of the prophets of old. After hearing their answers, He then asks the disciples who they think He is. Simon Peter responds, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.” After Peter’s response, Jesus then says; “And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church.”

I have read this Scripture quite a number of times before but this time around it was revealed to me in a different manner.  God says to Peter, upon the revelation that he has given, He shall build His church. So it is after the disciple grasped the revelation and understanding of who Jesus is that He decided to build His church.  So God was saying to me, He can only move and work in someone’s life to the extent of the revelation and understanding they have of Him.  A revelation comes with understanding and conviction.

If something has been revealed to you, you understand it better and convinced of its authenticity. Christ will be unto you what He has been revealed to be. For an example, if Christ has been revealed to you and you understand Him to be a Healer, that’s exactly what He will be to you and that is what you will continuously see Him doing in your life. Christ cannot manifest as a Healer in your life unless you have a revelation and understanding that He is indeed a Healer.

Christ is revealed to us in many different ways, through our circumstances and even through His word. It is important that we always seek an understanding and revelation of who Christ really is in His fullness, because He will never be to you what you do not know Him to be. Who has Christ been revealed to be in your life? What do you know and understand Him to be in your life? Your understanding of who He is will determine the extents in which He operates in your life.  Seek to know and understand Christ is His fullness and so that you can experience Him in your life in His fullness and totality.

Christ will be to you what He has been revealed to be… Your understanding of who He is will determine the extents in which He operates in your life
