And I will be a Father to you, and you will be My sons and daughters,” says the Lord Almighty – 2 Corinthians 6:18 AMP.
I sometimes sit and ask myself what kind of relationship do I have with God. Is it a Father and daughter relationship or is it a relationship of convenience? By convenience I mean a relationship where I want Him for what He can give me. Have I been in God because of what He can do for me? God wants a Father-child relationship with us. Our relationship with God is the most important thing in our lives.
When God calls us into seeking Him, He wants us to experience the fullness that is in Christ [Ephesians 3:19]. Christ is the Son of God, and was always seeking the presence of God. I have never heard in the Word Jesus praying for provision. This shows that we can also have a Father-son relationship with Him and not seek after His provision. We can seek His presence and have all we need [Psalm 37:4]. A father knows that they have to provide for their child, the child does not have to ask for it. God wants a relationship with us without conditions.
