Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on – Matthew 6:25a.
The word of God teaches us about who God is to a born-again believer. He’s a Father, an ever-present, loving Father who takes interest in even the tiniest details of our lives. This is the Father that we have to come to know, because once we know Him most of the things we stress and worry about will no longer worry us. He feeds the birds of the air and clothes the grass of the field, how much more will He take care of us, His children? (Matthew 6:26-30).
God has a track record of providing for the needs of His children, the children of Israel were well looked after in the wilderness, they had daily manna provided, a pillar of fire at night and a pillar of cloud during the day. This is the same God who is our Father, who has promised to look after us. Yes, He gives us jobs and businesses to meet these needs, but even outside of these He is more than able to provide. With this revelation of who the Father is, what then is left for us to worry about?
