A Call To Maturity: Disposing Of Weakest Links

A Call To Maturity: Disposing Of Weakest Links

The LORD who rescued me from the paw of the lion and the paw of the bear will rescue me from the hand of this Philistine – 1 Samuel 17:37a.

You can say what you want about USA but those people are patriotic. The government looks after its people and the whole world knows you don’t mess with them. They can sacrifice few soldiers just to rescue a citizen that is being held hostage somewhere. The citizens know this very well and hence they have this confidence that no matter where they are their country will move mountains to rescue them, they have personally experienced this and it’s not just a theory.

David in above Scripture also had this confidence about his GOD. He knew that GOD had taken him through the worst moments in his life and the challenge before him then was minuscule compared to what he had already overcome. His confidence comes from his personal experience with GOD and not head knowledge. A lot of Christians have the knowledge of GOD but few have the personal experience of who He is. We can probably get distinctions on the theory of Christianity but no practical experience. This is why people have been “believers” for decades yet still want a man of GOD to pray for them. They cannot stand on their own when adversity comes and always rely on the intervention of others. Every single trial everyone knows about it and everyone must stand in prayer with them.

In 2 Kings 6:16 the prophet when faced with the challenge did not panic because he knew who had his back. He didn’t run to his prayer closet to give a quick prayer of protection. He had a personal experience of who was with him, who his GOD was. 1 Corinthians 12:12-31 teaches that we are one body made up of different parts. What most people don’t realize is that for the body to function optimally every part must also function optimally. It doesn’t matter how well evolved the body is but if the legs are not functional the body cannot move. So as part of the body your lackluster performance is a hindrance to the body operating efficiently. Your refusal to grow spiritually is a hindrance to the body functioning.

We must all strive to give input and play our part in the growth and success of the body. We can’t keep dragging the body because we refuse to grow and to have our own revelation and experience of who GOD is. The body requires fully independent and successful parts that come together to make the body indestructible and very efficient. Let’s all pull our weight and this starts with us knowing GOD for ourselves, and refusing to be the weakest links.

We can probably get distinctions on the theory of Christianity but no practical experience
