“And she made this vow: “O LORD of Heaven’s Armies, if you will look upon my sorrow and answer my prayer and give me a son, then I will give him back to you. He will be yours for his entire lifetime, and as a sign that he has been dedicated to the LORD, his hair will never be cut.” – 1Samuel 1:11 NLT
The Bible is full of stories of women that through their heartfelt prayers changed situations. What is common amongst all of them is their genuine prayers to GOD. They were like uncelebrated superheroes who sacrificed themselves and their time to seek for solutions in prayer that would benefit not just themselves. Hannah was miserable and in anguish and she decided to pour out her heart to the Lord. In her prayer she made a vow that she would give the child back to the Lord. A very sincere and selfless act that would later benefit a nation. It is amazing how one person’s anguish and eventual answer would serve and benefit millions. Samuel would later be a powerful prophet of God who was respected (1 Samuel 3:19-21) . An example of how one woman’s prayer is a solution for an entire nation.
Elizabeth was barren and desperately wanted a child. Gabriel would then deliver the news that she will give birth to a son whom they will name John and this son would be filled with the Holy spirit while in utero. He would pave the way for the coming of the Lord, the one who would baptize Jesus Christ. When you look at both these stories you realize that these women had problems that would eventually be answers to people’s problems. They were tasked with interceding for nations (unbeknownst to them). Women have a huge responsibility on their shoulders and that is not to be taken lightly. Their prayers have a huge impact and can change situations for the better. Some women can even see problems their husband’s are oblivious to (1 Samuel 25).
You have a great responsibility and your faithfulness in prayer will yield a solution that might change people’s lives for the better. Who knows, maybe your current affliction will yield a solution for nations. You are chosen and commissioned by God to intercede for your family, country and nation. Don’t give up but persist in prayer, wait and see what GOD will do through your heartfelt prayer.
