‘The Holy Spirit of God has sealed you in Jesus Christ until you experience your full salvation. So never grieve the Spirit of God or take for granted his holy influence in your life’ – Ephesians 4:30 TPT
Start with yourself, do you do EVERYTHING the Holy Spirit tells you to do? Do you listen to the counsel of the Holy Spirit in your heart? Holy Spirit is the one who keeps us from error, He teaches and reminds us what Jesus said. So do you give Him attention? Are you daily listening out for what He will say and do you measure what you hear in your spirit according to the Word so you can verify that indeed you have heard Him, the Spirit of truth?
We can never know what the Holy Spirit has instructed someone else, but we have the Word by which to measure whether we and other believers are walking in truth or not (Matthew 7:16). The Bible has left no subject unaddressed, it is complete in instruction, direction and persuasion towards holiness and the simplicity of Christ is in the simplicity of the Word. We have brethren who do things that directly go against the instruction of the Word and they explain it away, and we take it! We accept the deception, and we accept it because we ourselves are unsure what the truth is on the matter or we are too busy to find out. The Spirit of God will not allow us to be deceived by others but who listens to Him? Who does what He says?
The Bible instructs us to be sober and vigilant (1 Peter 5:8) we are instructed not to slumber in spirit because the war for our souls is raging. Evil men are right in the Church of Jesus Christ, perverting the instruction and deceiving who they may. Don’t be deceived by them, the Lord has made it easy for us in that all we have to DO is WHAT HE SAYS. Remember Eve was instructed simply not to eat of a certain tree (2 Corinthians 11:3) yet the devil went for that one thing and that disobedience changed everything. The Holy Spirit does speak to a born again child of God daily, if in our individual capacity we take care concerning this area, a lot of error can be avoided and the cunningness of satan through fallen man can be laid bare!
The Devil would like nothing better than to catch you napping. Keep your guard up – 1 Peter 5:8 MSG
