But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. – James 1:22 KJV
I have learnt with this teaching (How To Walk In The Holy Spirit and Power) that our Father, GOD, has made it simple for us to walk in great power. He has made tremendous power accessible and brought it within reach for our human state. “How has GOD done that?”, you ask, well, just do what the Word says! That’s it, that is the secret to eternal and true power in the Spirit, do what the word of God says.
As we obey the Word in the Holy Spirit, the LORD causes us to do according to His pleasure (Philippians 2:13) causing us to bear fruit in all godliness, causing us to manifest the Kingdom. We can never go wrong with exercising ourselves in holiness by doing the Word, in fact this is how maturity comes. I am actually thinking now of how older siblings in a family setting, seem to know how to win the favor of the parents (not all obviously). I remember how I was always in trouble with my mom, especially in my teens, and how the two eldest siblings got to do whatever they wanted, at least that’s what it looked like to me. My memory, however, also serves me the reminder that they always did what my parents asked of them. I don’t remember them being excessively argumentative, but mostly docile and obedient, and I am now thinking that maybe experience taught them to appease the old folks by simply doing what they asked in order for them (my two older siblings) to eat the good of the land (Hebrews 5:14). They did what my parents wanted, they did the Word and had access to power.
Let us not fall into the trap of asking GOD too many questions as a condition for obedience, this won’t end well, as it isn’t faith to do that (Hebrews 11:1). Trust the instruction of the word of God, do what it says. (2 Peter 1:5-11), The Word says be faithful, the Word says forgive, the Word says commit, the Word says love, the Word says wait, the Word says give, the Word says be humble, the Word says be long suffering, the Word says be gentle, the Word says meditate on it day and night, don’t let it depart from your mouth. Just do that, preoccupy your life with just that. Make time for the Word daily and just as important, practice what you have read and learnt. This is it, this the open secret to walking in the Holy Spirit and Power!
