The Secret to Answered Prayer

“Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.” – I John 5:14-15 NKJV

There is something peculiar about prayer, I believe that GOD created prayer to keep us humble, to know that certain things in our lives will only take place when we go to Him in prayer. To further prove this point, I’m sure we’ve all had a family member or friend who’s an unbeliever who has in some or other way asked for prayer. It now makes sense why the devil fights us so much from praying, He knows that prayer brings about the will of God not only in our own lives but in the lives of others. Pray for others!

Pray at all times (on every occasion, in every season) in the Spirit, with all [manner of] prayer and entreaty. To that end keep alert and watch with strong purpose and perseverance, interceding in behalf of all the saints (God’s consecrated people).” (Ephesians 6:18 AMPC). GOD wants us to pray, GOD wants to answer our prayers, so much so, that He gave us the Holy Spirit to come along us and help us pray because only the Holy Spirit knows what the will of God is. When we pray we should always invite the Holy Spirit to lead us in prayer because none of us know what to pray for as we ought (Romans 8:26-27).

Prayer should be a place where we submit our will and pick up God’s will (Luke 22:42). We call to God and we keep calling out to Him until He answers us and shows us great and mighty things that we do not know (Jeremiah 33:3). When He shows us or reveals to us what His will is, we will even pray with confidence because we know that He will answer. When He reveals these things, It’s Him showing us what He has for us and what He wants us to ask Him. So what is the secret to answered prayer? The secret to answered prayer is the Holy Spirit helping us to pray according to the will of God.

Prayer should be a place where we submit our will and pick up God’s will
