“Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.” – Matthew 6:33 NLT

I’m sure we’ve all heard it being said that our Christian walk is not a sprint but a marathon, in fact, even life, in general, is a marathon. The word of God in Isaiah 40 verse 30 says, “Even the youths shall faint and be weary, And the young men shall utterly fall,”. This scripture talks about our own strength, that somewhere along the journey, we will get tired or even faint. It reminds me of prophet Elijah when he was running away from Jezebel, he got to a place where all he could do was take a nap after asking GOD to take his life. “He looked around and, to his surprise, right by his head were a loaf of bread baked on some coals and a jug of water. He ate the meal and went back to sleep. The angel of GOD came back, shook him awake again, and said, “Get up and eat some more—you’ve got a long journey ahead of you.”” (1 Kings 19:6-7 MSG)

Jesus is the bread of life, He says whoever comes to Him shall never hunger (John 6:35), He also supplies us with water that when we drink, we will never thirst (John 4:14). So I believe that when the prophet Elijah was ready to throw in the towel and die, GOD gave him Jesus. What need do you have today? What is causing you anxiety? Your answer is Jesus! “On the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink.” (John 7:37 NKJV) even today friends, Jesus is saying “if you thirst, come and drink.” We all have a long journey ahead of us and without Jesus, we will drop out.

Anything that we can ever achieve in our own strength will not stand the test of time and might only give us temporary fulfillment. But when we seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, everything that we will ever need to live a fulfilling life will be given to us and given in abundance in the person of Jesus (John 10:10b). So what is it that you’re in desperate need of? Healing? A blessing? A breakthrough? Restoration? The answer is Jesus, and He wants to give you more than the need that you desire to be met. Salvation and life in abundance so that you will never thirst again!

When we seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, everything that we will ever need to live a fulfilling life will be given to us and given in abundance in the person of Jesus
