“And everything I’ve taught you is so that the peace which is in me will be in you and will give you great confidence as you rest in me. For in this unbelieving world you will experience trouble and sorrows, but you must be courageous, for I have conquered the world!” – John 16:33 TPT.
Times are hard for an inordinately great number of people. We’re living in what in some circles has been termed the new normal – where it’s abnormally normal. However, it should be borne in mind that it’s never been normal for believers. We’re pilgrims and sojourners in this life. For us, it’s always been abnormally normal. That’s why we consider it not strange when we go through diverse hardships. For us it’s not a new normal, it’s our normal abnormal.
Our Boss told us that in this world we’ll have trials, difficulties, and sorrows. This is our abnormal normal or normal abnormal, same difference. However, He’s told us that He’s conquered this godless, unbelieving world. But here’s the clincher, wait for it: He’s conquered for us. Victory, O sweet victory, herefore thou art! So we have conquered. We’re conquerors. What we go through in our abnormal norm is a bruise on the heel, while on the other hand, we deal a crushing blow on the ugly, evil head of this world – the devil. What we go through, albeit momentarily, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, both now and forever.
We’re on a winning streak at this game of life. We’re overcoming. Our Captain is leading us from place to place in one perpetual victory parade. He causes all things to work together in agreement, in perfect harmony, for our own blessed good. All the confusing events of our lives are being turned into an orchestra of blessings. This is why no matter what we encounter, we should rejoice. The outcome has already been decided. There is therefore now no fear for us. No way, fear doesn’t live here. It’s house to let. It shall end in tears – of joy!
All the confusing events of our lives are being turned into an orchestra of blessings.
