“When they hear, Satan comes immediately and takes away the word that was sown in their hearts” – Mark 4:15 NKJV
What makes the devil to swoop down on the Word immediately, stealthily without notice before it has a chance to nestle down in one’s heart? What’s he afraid of? What does he know that probably most believers don’t? The LORD has magnified His word above all His name. This means He cannot do anything beyond His Word or without it. GOD has effectively encapsulated everything in the Word. The Word is replete with creation power. In the beginning, the Word was with GOD, the Word was spoken by GOD and the Word created everything that was, is, and is to come. All things were made through the Word, and without the Word, nothing was made that was made.
Satan knows something that makes him to primarily target the Word. Nothing happens where the word of God is not. In the beginning, the Spirit moved upon the face of the waters, but nothing happened – no creation – until the Word was spoken. The Word creates any and every thing the LORD desires. The Word brings into being what was not. Fast forward to Mark 11:23, the picture unravels beautifully. “Whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says.” Voila!
The very creative power of God in your mouth to create what you and Him desire. The Word that created form in a formless world, the Word that created light in a dark world and filled the haunting void with created things rests at the tip of a believer’s tongue waiting to be assigned and spoken. Just like GOD, as it says in the Bible that He sends His Word and it performs successfully what He sent it to do. He sends it on errands. How? By speaking it to do or create whatsoever He wants. Satan knows the Word runs errands successfully for a discerning or well-taught believer and it never fails an assignment.
Does the devil snatch the Word away from one’s heart for nothing? Absolutely not. The Word in the heart and mouth of a believer is his worst nemesis. The Spirit and the Word dwelling in a believer’s heart is an ‘Omni-potential’ waiting to burst into a creative force like none on earth. The Word brings order in the chaos the devil fabricates. The Word opposes and stops him in his tracks. Jesus overcame him by the written word. Believers overcome him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony. The Word puts the devil to flight. A believer can move all the devil-created mountains and throw them into the sea of nothingness by the word of God. The devil doesn’t fear the Word in the heart of a believer for nothing. It defeats him.
