“From Issachar, men who understood both the times and Israel’s duties” – 1 Chronicles 12:32a MSG
“To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven.” Ecclesiastes 3:1. To everything, the Bible says, everything. So to me, there is a season, a time for ‘my’ purpose under heaven. Knowing that leads me to the inevitable question, do I know what my purpose is, and am I aware of the time I have to accomplish it and the seasons therein? Do you know your purpose, times, and seasons? “Daniel answered and said: ‘Blessed be the name of GOD forever and ever, For wisdom and might are His. And He changes the times and the seasons; He removes kings and raises up kings; He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding. He reveals deep and secret things; He knows what is in the darkness, and light dwells with Him.'” Daniel 2:20-22.
GOD is the revealer of secret things. One’s purpose is not always apparent, but when we seek to understand, GOD gives us wisdom. “So teach us to number our days, That we may gain a heart of wisdom.” Psalms 90:12. This is a prayer of wisdom, for those who are serious about God’s purposes. Instead of just continuing with life in a fallen world as if everything is good and dandy, nothing on this earth is as it presents, only the Word of God is truth and that’s what we should follow and how we should live. There is a reason we are here and specificity of purpose, are we relevant to God’s structure, design and purpose? Are we relevant in the grand scheme of God’s unfolding plan?
“For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age” Titus 2:11-12. GOD has given us the abundant provision of His grace so that we meet the mark of our upward call in Christ. There are no disadvantages for us who are in Christ, so our decisions must not be made to salvage situations but rather to make decisions that help us meet the requirements of our earthly assignment. No, it’s not easy but it isn’t difficult either, it is spiritual! His grace by the Holy Spirit is the enabling power that helps us sow into the spirit so we can live. It’s not enough just to be born again, join a Church and serve, GOD always calls us deeper and further. Now He is calling us to be wise and circumspect. How do you know if you are living right, well within your lane, and adjusted? it is when the goal is clearly outlined and the specifications for meeting them are clear and adhered to.
There is a reason we are here and specificity of purpose, are we relevant to God’s structure, design and purpose? Are we relevant in the grand scheme of God’s unfolding plan?
