“And you shall remember the LORD your GOD, for it is He who gives you power to get wealth, that He may establish His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day.” – Deuteronomy 8:18 NKJV
Last week we learned about being born ‘for such a time as this’, we are all born, at the right time, in the right place, in the right family. Unfortunately, it is in times like these that a lot of people contemplate packing up and relocating, to a place that they think is safer or better for them and their families. By the grace of God, I’ve traveled to a few countries and I can tell you that the grass is not always greener on the other side. Every country is faced with its own unique challenges, and you might find yourself always moving from country to country in search of greener pastures.
We learned on Sunday that when there was a famine, Isaac went to Abimelech king of the Philistines, in Gerar (Genesis 26:1-4). We also do this, instead of inquiring of the LORD, we are quick to go to our fellow man. Why don’t we ask GOD? Why don’t we volunteer to GOD to be an agent used for the greater good of humanity or at least in the place where we find ourselves? “Then Isaac sowed in that land, and reaped in the same year a hundredfold; and the Lord blessed him. The man began to prosper, and continued prospering until he became very prosperous;” Genesis 26:12-13 NKJV
I don’t believe GOD is limited by our geographical location when He wants to bless us, but I do believe that we are where we are because there’s something He wants to do through us. First, for our families and communities and then for others that might not be that close to us. Isaac obeyed GOD and stayed and sowed in that land and GOD blessed him. The word of God tells us that He began to prosper, and continued prospering until he became very prosperous. Let us put our hands up and avail ourselves to GOD for Him to use us that He May bless others through us where we are.
Let us put our hands up and avail ourselves to GOD for Him to use us that He May bless others through us where we are.
