Orange Or Lemon

Therefore many of His disciples, when they heard this, said, “This is a hard saying; who can understand it?” When Jesus knew in Himself that His disciples complained about this, He said to them, “Does this offend you?” – John‬ ‭6:60-61‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“From that time many of His disciples went back and walked with Him no more.” – John‬ ‭6:66‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“And blessed is he who is not offended because of Me.” – ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭11:6‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

I believe we are living in the last of the last days and it’s the time when as believers we are to be more united in the faith and purpose than ever before. The devil knows that his time is short, and he is throwing everything at us, to distract and shift our focus from what we ought to be doing. One of the weapons he uses is offense. I believe God allows offense because offense comes to expose what is on the inside of us. It comes in many ways, but when it comes, it is our response that will determine whether we overcome or not.

“But don’t let the passion of your emotions lead you to sin! Don’t let anger control you or be fuel for revenge, not for even a day.” Ephesians‬ ‭4:26‬ ‭TPT‬‬. One of the most dangerous things to do is to say things or make decisions while angry or in a state of offense. We often say or do things that we regret later on. We all get offended at some point on this journey, but what is our response? There’s a saying that says that, something along the lines of, even if a lemon looks like an orange when it is squeezed, it will produce lemon juice. This simply means that it is in uncomfortable situations that the real us is revealed. It is when we are squeezed or put in a corner that all that is on the inside of us is revealed. GOD does not condemn us but it is a call for an introspection and self-correction. “If you do well, will you not be accepted? And if you do not do well, sin lies at the door. And its desire is for you, but you should rule over it.” ‭‭Genesis‬ ‭4:7‬ ‭NKJV‬‬.

Even if a lemon looks like an orange when it is squeezed, it will produce lemon juice
