Strike The Shepherd

Sunday Message Summary, 12 September 2021

The center that holds everything together in our Christian life is leadership (Matthew 26:31). For GOD to bless, maintain order, protect, bring security and safety, and manifest, He uses leadership. In the true Kingdom of God there are no rogue Christians who have not been allocated under God-appointed leadership. GOD operates within His own established system, and He does nothing outside of His system of leadership. Leadership is God’s original idea for the preservation of mankind and the Earth. Where there is a right relationship between those who lead and those who are led, there will be peace, prosperity, righteousness, and the fear of GOD (1 Timothy 2:1-3).

In order for the devil to wreak havoc on Earth, he finds a way for authority to be defied. The devil will either attack leadership directly or through those under leadership. In the Garden of Eden, GOD put Adam into a position of leadership, so when the devil attacked Adam, he attacked God’s duly appointed leadership. The devil put doubt in Eve’s heart so that she could defy Adam’s authority and leadership (1 Timothy 2:14). This had consequences that we are still feeling today. If those who lead and those who are led are not rightly related, chaos will ensue. Without wise leadership, people follow their own thoughts and their own feelings, thinking that this is the guidance of GOD, and this leads to chaos and failure (Proverbs 11:14). Where leadership is under attack the most is in the church.

In the spiritual realm, it is authority that is recognized. GOD will not speak except through His own system of leadership, and today GOD is still leading through Jesus. Jesus leads us through His own apostles, prophets, pastors, evangelists, and teachers, whom He has hand-picked and appointed (Ephesians 4:11). Spiritual leaders have God-given authority over our lives, and to have God-ordained leaders over us is the express will of GOD (Hebrews 13:17). When we reject God’s divine guidance from God’s divine leadership, we are rejecting GOD Himself. The leader that GOD gives us is the leader that GOD has chosen after His own heart for us (Jeremiah 3:14-16a). God’s order is first leadership, then blessings, so GOD will bless us only after He has installed leadership.

Without solid and sound Christian leadership, God’s children will go astray, being deceived, misled, & falling prey to Satan. We do not choose where to submit, to whom to submit, & how to submit. We can only be led by the Spirit of the LORD to a godly leader where GOD wants us to be. Holy Spirit will always lead us to a divine leader in a divine place. The primary duty and responsibility of every duly appointed leader is to lead the people of GOD to GOD (Genesis 18:19), and not to themselves and other things. We should not only follow the faith lives of leaders, but also their social lives, as the two must run in agreement (Hebrews 13:7). When we submit ourselves, willingly and obediently, in the church where the LORD plants us, He will cause us to grow, succeed and prosper (Psalms 92:12-14).

God’s order is first leadership, then blessings.
