The Reward Is Greater Than The Cost

The Reward Is Greater Than The Cost

“Blessed is the man who endures temptation; for when he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him.” – James 1:12 NKJV

Christianity has many promises and rewards that are there for us for the taking, this process is pretty straightforward. Firstly, we count the cost, secondly, we die to self and allow the LORD to lead us through His Holy Spirit. Simple right? “So don’t follow me without considering what it will cost you. For who would construct a house before first sitting down to estimate the cost to complete it? Otherwise, he may lay the foundation and not be able to finish. The neighbors will ridicule him, saying, ‘Look at him! He started to build but couldn’t complete it!’” Luke 14:28-30 TPT. Sadly many of us get caught up in the excitement and moving with the crowd that we never really actually took the time to count the cost and this becomes evident when trials come.

Trials come to test what our faith is made of, they come to test the foundation on which our faith is built on, whether rock or sand (Matthew 7:24-27). One of the biggest hindrances for us to walk in the victory that has already been given to us is the flesh. We are spiritual beings and we are called to walk in the Spirit, even though what we see may contradict what GOD has said. “because we don’t focus our attention on what is seen but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but the unseen realm is eternal.” 2 Corinthians 4:18 TPT. We can only remain faithful when we look at our trials from an eternity point of view when we fix our eyes on the unseen realm.

We are going somewhere and trials are there to make us better, to make us strong and better equipped for the promise. We must not allow our flesh to take us out of where and what GOD has called us into. Many a time, things won’t make sense to us on this journey, but journeying we are journeying with the LORD, and building, we are building with the LORD. “Patient endurance is what you need now, so that you will continue to do God’s will. Then you will receive all that He has promised.” Hebrews 10:36 NLT.

Trials are there to make us better, to make us strong and better equipped for the promise
