GOD, The Benevolent

“O taste and see that the LORD [our GOD] is good; How blessed [fortunate, prosperous, and favored by GOD] is the man who takes refuge in Him.” – Psalms 34:8 AMP

GOD is omniscient (all-knowing), omnipotent (all-powerful), and omnibenevolent (supremely good). In other words, GOD knows everything, has the power to do anything, and is perfectly good. He is nothing like us and for that I thank Him. He does not change as life changes nor is He moved by what moves us. It is a pleasure and a blessing to trust in and find refuge in such a GOD. His Word says “Who shall ever separate us from the love of Christ? Will tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword?” Romans 8:35 AMP. We MUST believe that nothing we go through changes the divine plans He has for us simply because His love is perfected in us. Just as we will and do anything for those we love, GOD is able and does do beyond what is humanly possible for His beloveds.

Too many times we face challenges that leave us breathless and even wondering if GOD cares about what we have lost or are losing. But knowing who He is as GOD and as our GOD is the beginning of believing what He can and will do in our lives. The mess we see today can turn into a testimony and a new awe-inspiring story in an instant. He is able to restore every area of our lives including the time we have lost. What would take us years to have He gives in a day. That is the GOD we serve. We need only to hold on to our faith in Him. “To have faith is to be sure of the things we hope for, to be certain of the things we cannot see.” Hebrews 11:1 GNT, and to know that our story is not done. The author has a marvelous ending for those who are His and He is the restorer of all things.

He is able to restore every area of our lives including the time we have lost
