Appointed, Anointed, and Commissioned

Appointed, Anointed, and Commissioned

“King David went in, took his place before GOD, and prayed: “Who am I, my Master GOD, and what is my family, that you have brought me to this place in life? But that’s nothing compared to what’s coming, for you’ve also spoken of my family far into the future, given me a glimpse into tomorrow, my Master GOD! What can I possibly say in the face of all this? You know me, Master GOD, just as I am. You’ve done all this not because of who I am but because of who you are—out of your very heart!—but you’ve let me in on it.” – 2 Samuel 7:18-21 MSG

I often say to myself that GOD has a sense of humor when I hear some of the promises or words that GOD speaks into my life, either through His Word or through His chosen vessel. After a few days, I convince myself that it’s all in my mind or that the vessel is just being nice. Whenever this happens I always think of  Gideon and how shocked he must’ve been when GOD called him a mighty man of valor considering who he was and where he was (Judges 6:12, 14 NKJV). I’ve since learned that GOD uses people that are written off by society and have even written themselves off.

“For you see your calling, brethren, that not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called. But GOD has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and GOD has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty;” I Corinthians 1:26-27 NKJV. When GOD is involved, what was impossible becomes possible, GOD is glorified most when we cannot point His works to a vessel’s ability that He has used. The mistake we often make is we look at ourselves and our skills and when we come up short, we consider ourselves to be unworthy, whereas we are worthy because we don’t measure up.

“But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of GOD and not of us.”II Corinthians 4:7 NKJV. GOD has spoken and has spoken clearly, our part is just to arise, it’s His light that will shine and His glory that will be seen. GOD has appointed us, anointed us, and commissioned us. What was impossible has now become possible. The LORD is with you, you mighty man of valor!

The mistake we often make is we look at ourselves and our skills and when we come up short, we consider ourselves to be unworthy, whereas we are worthy because we don’t measure up.
