Faith Rests On God’s Power

Faith Rests On God’s Power

Sunday Message Summary, 3 April 2022

The Kingdom of God is not intellectual. Instead, this is the pillar and the foundation of our faith – God’s ability, His power, and what He can do (1 Corinthians 2:4-5). True, biblical faith is based on and rests on the power of GOD. Our faith should be in God’s ability to do for us signs, wonders, and miracles. In fact, without God’s power there is no Gospel. According to Hebrews 2:3-4, GOD bears witness to the message of the Gospel, backing the message with power and the supernatural. GOD partners with His Word through accompanying miracles, signs, and wonders (Mark 16:20). If the Word of faith we hear is truly from GOD, where is the witness of GOD? Where is the confirmation, the fellowship, and the partnership? Otherwise, that Word is merely intellectual.

Faith is based on what GOD can do, and what He can deliver.  A true child of GOD knows that nothing is impossible with GOD, and that our sufficiency does not come from ourselves, but it comes from the all-powerful GOD. The exceeding greatness of the power of GOD is available to all who believe (Ephesians 1:19). Our lives must be followed by testimony after testimony when we have the power of GOD that makes all things possible, because our faith is based on the omnipotence of GOD. He is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us (Ephesians 3:20). This is the faith that the Christians that came before us suffered for. There was nothing impossible for them because of the GOD for whom nothing is impossible.

What makes for believers who truly overcome the world is the Word that is accompanied by signs, wonders, miracles, and gifts of the Holy Spirit. Often, things don’t work for us because GOD is not our first port of call, however GOD is teaching us that man should fully depend on Him. The power of GOD is always available to us that believe for the working of signs, wonders and miracles. Therefore, our lips should not say anything impossible, nor should our eyes see anything impossible. We should not limit GOD to external factors. There are miracles that GOD is yet to do through those who believe in our day and generation, there are things GOD still wants to do through us, and there are miracles GOD wants to do first with the church of our day. In this faithless generation would we stand up? As you have believed, so let it be done for you (Matthew 8:13).

Our lives must be followed by testimony after testimony when we have the power of GOD that makes all things possible, because our faith is based on the omnipotence of GOD.
