“So he, trembling and astonished, said, “LORD, what do You want me to do?” Then the LORD said to him, “Arise and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do.” Acts 9:6 NKJV
One of the most frustrating things for me, for as long as I can remember, was or is not knowing what I’m here for. I’ve often sat down and wondered why GOD brought me here and for what purpose because I don’t believe it was by mistake. The one mistake that I’d like to acknowledge though, is that even with all of my questions, I’ve never really gone to my Creator to ask Him, I’ve always wondered but never really genuinely asked Him. There is an element of fear, I guess, what if He answers me with something that I don’t want to hear or something that I’m not ready for?
We learned on Sunday that GOD answers all the time when we pray His will. The above Scripture is a perfect example, Saul asked the LORD, “LORD, what do you want me to do?” And immediately the LORD answered Him, He was instructed where to go and was told that that is where He will receive the next instruction. How many of us can honestly say that we’ve asked GOD and after He answered we followed the instruction? Many of us have walked away from what or where GOD has called us to because it became uncomfortable or difficult. “Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.” Matthew 7:14 NKJV.
Today, I’ll speak for myself, I need to overcome the fear of where GOD wants to take me and what He wants me to do. On this journey, it won’t always be comfortable and easy but it is in the will of God where true life is found. May we be part of the few that find it. “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11 NIV. May we trust God’s plan for our lives, for He has assured us that His plans for us are to prosper us and not to harm us, to give us a hope and a future. As the saying goes, “Have faith and trust the process”. Ask Him today, “LORD, what do You want me to do?” When He answers, do what He says so that you may find true life.
