Faith & Consecration

Faith & Consecration

Sunday Message Summary, 15 May 2022

We are called to live a consecrated life.  A consecrated life is the only life we have been called into because it is in this life that we have a relationship with GOD and have access to everything GOD has promised us. We ought to live as people who are sanctified, justified, and have received an abundance of grace. As a result of our bodies being here on Earth, we can only live this supernatural life, which is spiritual, by faith (Galatians 2:20). We can only become what the Word of God says, living the life that is pleasing to GOD, by faith. There is supernatural power that resides on the inside of us, and it is by faith that we access it that it may materialize in us, through us, and by us.

We are who and what the Word says we are, but we must take it by faith. We will only know that we have been crucified with Christ by reckoning, considering, and seeing ourselves in the supernatural (Romans 4:4,6,11). Do we see ourselves as the Bible sees us? Scripture says we get better and better, and we shine brighter and brighter (Proverbs 4:18), so the trajectory of a Christian never plateaus, nor does it plummet, but it rises higher and higher. We are the righteousness of GOD in Christ Jesus – end of story. We must therefore reckon ourselves with the truth of the Scriptures and consecrate ourselves, not continuing in sin (Romans 6:12-14). We must consecrate the members of our bodies, not presenting our bodies to do wrong. Faith therefore leads us to consecration and righteousness.

We should be consecrated spirit, soul, and body because we are born again spirit, soul, and body. Mark 10:29-30 promises that those who are consecrated and set apart for GOD will receive a full measure of blessing in this life and in the life to come. The blessings only come by sanctification and being set apart because GOD cannot bless us in unrighteousness (Genesis 12:1-2). The only thing that has guaranteed victory for us is the Word of GOD in the Holy Spirit. It is the Gospel that brings about consecration and sanctification by bringing a separation between light and darkness, between blood and spirit. What sets us free is the Word.

We must therefore reckon ourselves with the truth of the Scriptures and consecrate ourselves, not continuing in sin
