“But Peter said, “Silver and gold I do not have; but what I do have I give to you: In the name (authority, power) of Jesus Christ the Nazarene—[begin now to] walk and go on walking!” – Acts 3:6 AMP
Imagine having a female Metro Police officer with Achondroplasia (dwarfism), standing in the middle of the N1 and instructing a truck driving at 120km/h to stop immediately. Even if the lady has a height of one meter, the truck will stop where she instructs it to stop. Although as an individual the Metro Police officer isn’t as intimidating, her uniform gives her the authority to stop any car that she wants. The same woman, anywhere else, without her uniform is illicit from commanding such a stance, yet when she is in her uniform she is the king of the road. Her uniform gives her power and authority to do what she wants on any road in South Africa. In the above Scripture, we can see that Peter, as an individual, as an uneducated fisherman that didn’t have anything that was enticing about him, had nothing to offer the lame man. Yet, as a follower of Christ Jesus, he had so much to offer. It’s the Name of Jesus that enabled and equipped him to assist the lame man. The miracle and the power that was witnessed on that day was as a result of exercising the power that is attached to the Name. His faith gave him the authority and power to heal the lame man.
Going back to the lady with dwarfism, we also can’t do anything on our own. We too, require our uniform (Holy Spirit), to exercise power and authority to stop a moving truck (demons and principalities). Without Him, we aren’t intimidating (like the dwarf in civilian clothing), but when we adorn our uniform, the possibilities are endless. “We now have this light shining in our hearts, but we ourselves are like fragile clay jars containing this great treasure. This makes it clear that our great power is from GOD, not from ourselves.” 2 Corinthians 4:7 NLT. We as mere mortals are weak and fragile, but we have in us the power that enables us to live supernatural lives. This is the reason why we glorify GOD because on our own we couldn’t move with such power and authority- we know this.
So when we are clothed in our uniform, it isn’t the sky that’s the limit, but our ignorance. We are depriving the world of God’s light if we don’t walk in the power and authority that Jesus sacrificed His life for. Creation is waiting for the true sons and daughters of Jehovah to come into their own. The harvest is plentiful and can only be accessed by those who walk in the full revelation of who they are in Him. “For some say, “His letters are weighty and forceful, but in person he is unimpressive and his speaking amounts to nothing. Such people should realize that what we are in our letters when we are absent, we will be in our actions when we are present.” 2 Corinthians 10:10-11 NIV.
