You Matter

You Matter

“For in fact the body is not one member but many. If the foot should say, “Because I am not a hand, I am not of the body,” is it therefore not of the body? But now GOD has set the members, each one of them, in the body just as He pleased. And the eye cannot say to the hand, “I have no need of you”; nor again the head to the feet, “I have no need of you.” ‭‭- I Corinthians‬ ‭12‬:‭14‬-‭15‬, ‭18‬, ‭21‬ ‭NKJV‬‬.

The little toe is one of those body parts that one can consider to be insignificant, especially considering the size. What most of us don’t know, is that it plays a crucial role in our overall mobility and functionality, despite its small size. It helps with balance and propulsion during physical activities, bears a portion of our body weight, and provides important sensory feedback to the brain. Additionally, it contributes to stability and support during various movements and is involved in fine motor control, allowing for precise actions. Overall, the little toe is a vital part of our foot anatomy, and its importance should not be overlooked.

“From one man, Adam, he made every man and woman and every race of humanity, and he spread us over all the earth. He sets the boundaries of people and nations, determining their appointed times in history.” Acts‬ ‭17‬:‭26‬ ‭TPT‬‬. GOD was very intentional with how He placed all of us on this earth, the race we are born into, the family we are born into, the country and city we are born into, and most importantly, the church fellowship into which He places us in. In that city, you matter, in that family, even as that uncle who doesn’t work, you matter, in your nation, you matter, in your city, you matter, and again, most importantly, in your church fellowship, you matter.

There are times when we may feel like we don’t matter because we’ve got nothing of substance to contribute. But when we know and understand that GOD was intentional about where He has placed us, we are halfway to knowing that we matter. And once we know this, we will also value others, knowing that they too matter. “You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed. How precious are your thoughts about me, O GOD. They cannot be numbered! I can’t even count them; they outnumber the grains of sand! And when I wake up, you are still with me!” Psalms‬ ‭139‬:‭16‬-‭18‬ ‭NLT‬‬.

So whether you consider yourself to be a small toe or a more significant part of the body, you are valued and intentionally placed. And the people that we might deem to be less important, matter just as much, if not more. “In fact, some parts of the body that seem weakest and least important are actually the most necessary.” 1 Corinthians‬ ‭12‬:‭22‬ ‭NLT‬‬. We are to love and care for one another because we are all part of one body, just as the whole body is affected when we hit our small toe on the edge of the bed, let the pain of others also be our pain.

We are to love and care for one another because we are all part of one body, just as the whole body is affected when we hit our small toe on the edge of the bed, let the pain of others also be our pain.
