And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God – Romans 12:2.

The reason friendship with the world is enmity with God is because you cannot serve two masters, you will love the one and despise the other. The culture of the Kingdom of God is opposed to the way of the world, it is impossible to do both because the two ways of living are not compatible with each other. Satan steals, kills and destroys, that is his modus operandi, he simply cannot do any better than that. Satan operates through the world system, and a lot of Christians get caught in his trap because they get deceived by the world’s innocent appeal. It will look innocent because the enemy is smarter than to downright come at you showing his face, he will deceive and trap you, only through the Word can his schemes be exposed and evaded.

Christians feel weird to behave as the Word of God commands, you stick out like a sore thumb from the world and your worldly friends, and Christians don’t want that kind of attention. We want recognition, acceptance and applause from worldly people so we conform. The Bible clearly tells us in 2 Timothy 3:1-5 “But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!”.

We should really be concerned because the very things we are warned of in the Word are seen among us believers. Narcissism among Christians, let us not even make mention of the love of money because it is all about money, people leave Churches where the Lord has planted them because they are not seeing “breakthrough” in their lives, let me decipher that for you, the money is just not coming so they will go somewhere else. Christians are ungrateful, unholy, unloving and unforgiving. It is all because we are caught up in a worldly way of living, we copy the selfish, self-centred, self absorbed way of the world and we can’t tell the difference because we are not meditating on the Word. There is much to say about this subject, but let the Holy Spirit lead those who care enough to seek Him further concerning this subject!
