I know that the LORD has given you this land and that a great fear of you has fallen on us, so that all who live in this country are melting in fear because of you – Joshua 2:9 NIV.

On their journey to the Promised Land the Israelites encountered many nations and conquered anyone who was a threat to their inheritance. Throughout the journey God made them a great testimony. Their fame was so great that nations that inhabited lands on Israelites path were terrified of them. Even the nations Israelites had not yet encountered were melting in fear at just the thought of going into battle with them.

Their lives were a living testimony of the power of God. Rahab feared them so much she betrayed her nation just so that her family can be spared. Mind you the majority of the Israelites probably didn’t even know they were gonna have to fight this nation, yet the nation had already accepted defeat. The Israelites had already won a fight they themselves didn’t know existed.

When you are in the perfect will of God for your life He fights for you even in your ignorance. Your enemies tremble at the possibility of encountering you. Your walk with God is a nightmare for an enemy you have not yet encountered. “Because he loves me,” says the LORD, “I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name,” Psalm 91:14 NIV.

Because of God’s faithfulness and power even the Israelites’ enemy said, “The Lord your God is God in heaven above and on the earth below,” Joshua 2:11. Meaning she realised the god she was serving was nothing compared to the God of Israel. “Know that the Lord is God,” Psalm 100:3.
