What Are You Made Of?

“You see, every child of God overcomes the world, for our faith is the victorious power that triumphs over the world.” – 1 John 5:4 TPT

There is a saying that says that ‘if you squeeze a lemon, you will get lemon juice’, there’s also another saying that says that ‘everyone is a Christian until it gets biblical’. By putting these two sayings together, you will realize that in Christianity, you will be squeezed in the form of trials and testing according to Scripture and when you are squeezed, what is on the inside of you will come out. GOD deals ever so lovingly with us, He first prepares us, then allows the testing to come and after the testing, when you look back, you are shocked at what you were able to go through. That right there, is faith in action, faith in the heart which you have access to when you are hard-pressed, faith that is founded and built on the word of God.

“Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock. “But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell. And great was its fall.” (Matthew 7:24-27). When we are founded and built on the word of God, we will be able to withstand any and every storm that may come our way because of the word of God in us. We will be like the house built on the rock, after the storm it was found standing.

I’m sure many of us would prefer the easy road in life, full of comfort and ease, but nothing good has ever come from the comfort zone. I mean, for one, how would you know what you’re made of if you’ve never been squeezed? You could easily spend your whole life believing that you’re a lemon or an orange simply because you believe and you are told that, that is what you are. GOD will not allow us to be crushed, and even when we are persecuted, He will not forsake us, even when we are knocked down, we are not knocked out and even when we don’t know what to do, quitting is not an option (2 Corinthians 4:8-9). You are more than an overcomer child of GOD because your faith is the victorious power that triumphs over the world. Dare I say after this, both you and the world will know exactly what you are made of!

When we are founded and built on the word of God, we will be able to withstand any and every storm that may come our way because of the word of God in us
