Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance – 1 Corinthians 13:7 NLT.
As Christians we have exhausted this topic on love and probably get tired of people always touching on the matter. We all believe we love each other and others the way we’re supposed to. We can be lacking in other departments but not this one, this we have it locked.
Christ spent many days and nights with Judas knowing full well his motives. I believe every single day He woke up with hope that he would change. He knew that Judas’ “love” was not genuine, yet He did not embarrass or alienate him. He embodied verse 7 of above Scripture, always hoped.
We sometimes struggle to forgive people who say false things about us yet Christ loved and forgave someone who was going to be an accessory to His death. Stephen during the stoning prayed for his accusers and genuinely wanted GOD to forgive them. Jesus while being arrested even had time to heal one of His accusers. He felt this man needed his ear more than He needed His life.
Verse 1 of above Scripture shows that we could be flowing in the gifts and yet still not be perfected in love. Our works in the kingdom don’t necessarily equate to our love of fellow believers. That truly challenges me and shows me that I can do better. I don’t have this department locked, and I need grace to love GOD’s people because I don’t have the ability to do it on my own.
