Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me – Philippians 3:12.
When Jesus laid hold of us, it was for a purpose, an eternal purpose, a fruitful, fulfilling life that would not only benefit us but many others that this life would minister to and bring to Christ.
Our daily pursuit should be for Jesus and Jesus only because it is in Him that we find purpose and bear fruit, it’s always so painful for me when I see people chasing purpose outside of Christ, imagine reaching the end of life and finding out that you were only successful in the eyes of man but a complete failure with God?
We ought to seek Him every day, remain in Him, trust and believe that when we are in Him and He in us we will not fail. “Live in me. Make your home in me just as I do in you. In the same way that a branch can’t bear grapes by itself but only by being joined to the vine, you can’t bear fruit unless you are joined with me,” John 15:4 MSG.
