In The Furnace Of Affliction

In The Furnace Of Affliction

Timothy, my son, here are my instructions for you, based on the prophetic words spoken about you earlier. May they help you fight well in the Lord’s battles – 1 Timothy 1:18 NLT.

I know a man who received a prophecy that the Lord would bless him with many cars. Upon receiving that prophecy he didn’t really know how to respond to it yet he chose to believe and trust God would fulfill it. As is the norm with spiritual matters God’s word for your life will be tested. Then couple of months later he lost both of his cars.

While travelling in a taxi he recalled the prophecy he had received earlier. This man whose name I can’t reveal chose to stand on God’s word and believed that the word was being tested. He recalled the prophecy so that he might fight a good fight of faith. Though it didn’t make sense to confess many cars while in a taxi (like Abraham in a tent) he did it anyway. This same man now has two cars again and is eagerly waiting for a fleet of cars the Lord is still bringing (Hebrews 11:1 and 2 Corinthians 4:18).

Most of us have received a word or prophecy and a lot has happened since then that makes you doubt or question the authenticity of that word. The opposite of the prophecy may be happening and you are struggling to stand on the word. This man I know believes testing is building character and one must believe God will do what He says He will do (Jeremiah 1:12). “God blesses those who patiently endure testing and temptation. Afterward they will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him,” James 1:12 NLT. God’s word for your life will always be tested, ALWAYS!

Testing is building character and one must believe God will do what He says He will do”
