But He knows the way that I take [and He pays attention to it]. When He has tried me, I will come forth as [refined] gold [pure and luminous] – Job 23:10 AMP.
The testing of our faith has a purpose, GOD knows the value that He has put into each and every one of us and it is only through fiery trials that that value is made known or revealed to us. We associate gold with great value and it’s not a mistake that the Word likens the refining of our faith to that of gold, although our faith is of greater value than gold.
“O Lord, we have passed through your fire; like precious metal made pure, you’ve proved us, perfected us, and made us holy,” Psalms 66:10 TPT. We are not to consider the fiery trials strange as children of GOD, they have a purpose and that purpose is to prove, perfect and make us holy/pure. We learned that it’s the quality of faith that matters, not quantity, and this quality comes through the fire.
We all desire to be close to GOD and pleasing to GOD and faith is how we touch God’s heart because it is by faith that we show GOD that we trust Him and believe His Word. Faith gives us access to what we are believing and trusting Him for (Hebrews 11:6). This is important because God’s promises don’t make sense to the natural mind and require authentic, steadfast faith to acquire what He has promised (Hebrews 11:2). Take heart, the testing of your faith is for your own benefit, the measure of faith given to you is worth more than gold and GOD will not allow you to be tried beyond what you can bear.
