Refresh

So that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord – Acts 3:19.

Perhaps we just haven’t realized the enormous need for spiritual revival, reawakening, refreshment. So many things happen within and without that we need to be readjusted, realigned and refocused. We need to come back to the centre by all means possible, whether by soft or gradual or revolutionary means. However, one thing is clear, it’s urgent. Amplified says ‘return to God – seek His purpose for your life’, then He’ll wipe away sin and give a time of refreshing from the presence of the Lord – restoring you like a cool wind on a hot day. The presence of the Lord is what we need more than ever before. Another translation says time of ‘rest or comfort’. This is what the presence of the Lord brings. He gives rest and comfort to those who are burdened down, torn apart and lost in fear and uncertainty. What centres us is when we are focusing on His purpose for our lives. As we do the Spirit of the Lord comes along to refresh, restore, revive and revitalize us. We need His guiding, reassuring and protecting presence more today than ever before. We need to live again, afresh, anew in His presence. Invite His presence to be with you every day, each day, all day.
